One of CSDI's key priorities is to ensure the satisfaction of its staff. Such emphasis not only helps those working in the institute derive maximum enjoyment from their work, but also enables them enhance their opportunities for career development. This concern for staff satisfaction, of course, also pays dividends for the institute in the form of superior employee morale and more effective performance.
CSDI holds a number of classes specifically for members of the staff. These include supervisory/management classes and special classes for trainers. There are also classes designed to acquaint the staff with changing government regulations and policies, as well as with new skills and technologies.
The institute encourages members of the staff to pursue leisure-time interests as well. It helps groups with common interests to find teachers. Typically, classes and activities are held after working hours. Past and present classes include swimming, hiking, ping pong, yoga, photography, and Chinese seal carving --- all of which have enthusiastic devotees among the CSDI staff.
